After reading all of the Yelp! reviews I really more or less decided to try this place just to say I had tried it and not really because I wanted to. I did note that most of the reviews said the actual food was really good so there was that. But I was not all that enthused about trying it. This was a rare case where I think reviews on Yelp! were really a little misleading in regards to the bottom line:
Is the food worth all the other stuff???
I can safely say HECK YEAH!
So my wife and I decided to check this place out as we were going to Easton to see a movie on a Tuesday evening. So while this place wasn't super busy it was still humming along and had some business. There was no wait to use a kiosk and there were seats available. I can see from the layout why some Yelpers did not recommend eating here on a weekend night as I can imagine it gets quite congested. I also believe the criticism that there are too many seats and benches that seat 6 that only 1 or 2 people are using means a lot of wasted floor space. All valid criticisms.
However..and you knew this was coming...the food is worth it. I am not a huge cheeseburger fan, I mean I do love them (who doesn't) but I don't go out of my way to try cheeseburger places like I do pizza places. With that being said one bite of my Shake Shack single with added onions and pickles and I was a true believer. The burger was a juicy, amazing, carmelized and thoroughly cooked fantastic ball of awesome. And surprise surprise, the rather "plain looking in pictures" crinkle cut fries were the best crinkle cut fries I've ever tasted anywhere. No, not the best fries ever but the best crinkle cut fries (calm down) and my wife and I both very quickly made short work of them, which is somewhat revealing since we are not huge fry fans and sometimes even throw some of them away.
Lastly the Oreo milkshake was amazing as well, we got the malt so it was very thick, very rich and just all around fantastic tasting. My wife even commented she thought the milkshake was among one of the best she's had in a long time and that is high praise from her indeed.
So here's the final word, yes there are some issues with this place being busy but guess what, IT'S BECAUSE IT'S FANTASTIC. That's right, so go ahead and read all the Yelp! reviews with all the criticisms but note that while you're reading most still say the food is fantastic.
If you are a cheeseburger fan, or just a fan of great food then this place is a must visit ASAP.
P.S. For people saying the food here is overpriced. It's not. You're wrong. If you're looking for a cheap burger then get your phone out, download the Burger King app and go get a 59 cent cheeseburger and quit polluting Yelp! with nonsense about how poor you are. This place is NOT overpriced, it's correctly priced for what it offers, premium cheeseburgers, awesome, crinkle cut fries and delicious milkshakes. -

(Note this is my first time to Shake Shack)
Pros:
MilkShakes are good, around average.
not too crowded
Cons:
Prices extremely insane for what it is
Burger wasn't that great, the cheese, the cheese even though it's American cheese, had an almost expired taste to it, it was super dense and made my stomach flip. wait times, it took around 30 minutes for 4 burgers... 4 b u r g e r s, the staff are rude, except for the guy who gave us our food. -

Location + restaurant space: This location is far too small given Shake Shack's popularity and the fact that Easton offers only a few fast casual establishments. The restaurant layout is also not ideal. Crowds can form easily in front of the pick-up station and makes it difficult to maneuver around to get a drink or condiments. I can imagine the overcrowding will only get worse as the seasons begin to change and diners aren't inclined to sit and eat outside, as many have done since Shake Shack's opening in May.
Customer Service: There is little employee-customer interaction here, and the customer service I've received has been mediocre at best.
Food: I have limited experience with the menu, but I've really enjoyed the Shack Burger. The fries are good, but only when they're warm. I've also tried the hot dog, but it had too many toppings for my taste. I'm a Plain Jane. As others have noted, the food does seem expensive. Are we paying for what we're getting, or are we really paying for the brand? I'm not quite sure.
*Note: Shake Shack Columbus has partnered with local café Fox in the Snow on a couple desserts: Fox in the Snow frozen custard featuring the café's legendary pecan sticky buns and a frozen Pie of My, which will be served with a seasonal Fox in the Snow pie. Pretty cool! -

If being pressured by others waiting to order from really finicky machines, pushing through crowds of people waiting for their orders just to get to the condiments, and participating in the Hunger Games for a table is your idea of a good time then Shake Shack is your place. The chaos of the environment is stressful and very awkward. If you find an open table after stalking who might be done with their meal next and you sit, the 15min wait for your food with nothing in front of you and other vulture patrons circling your table is intense.
I have never been to a Shake Shack and had no idea what to expect. I just had hip surgery and have to walk with crutches, had I know the atmosphere was "hectic cafeteria" my husband and I would have decided to eat somewhere else.
The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the fries were good and the flavor of the burger was decent. Both my husband and my burgers were over charred and when the burger isn't big to begin with having 3/4 of it burnt or overcooked doesn't make for a pleasant eating experience. Both of our drinks were room temperature which isn't how either of us like our ICED tea or lemonade (which tasted like pure simple syrup).
For me, this wasn't an experience I am eager to repeat and I highly doubt I'll ever agree to come back should someone say "let's go to Shake Shack" -

This was my first shake shack visit and it won't be the last! After hearing tons of hype, I decided to go all out when ordering. The line was long but it went really fast surprisingly. The employees were very kind and calm under pressure.
I ordered the cheese fries with bacon, smoke shack burger, chicken nuggets, chicken sandwich and the collaborations they had with the fox in the snow!
Everything was so delicious, I was impressed by the food they served given the type of food joint that they are.
I was most impressed by their collaboration with Fox in the Snow. the fact that they partnered with a local business is very admirable to me and makes me love them that much more!
Welcome to Columbus Shake Shack!
